Pakistan and UAE Strengthen Collaboration in Digital Transformation and Emerging Technologies

Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to expand cooperation across digital transformation, ICT innovation, and emerging technologies—marking a major step in Pakistan’s global technology partnerships. The agreement was reached during a meeting between UAE Ambassador Salem Alzaabi and Federal IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja in Islamabad.

The discussion focused on accelerating bilateral cooperation in technology-driven development, modern digital infrastructure, and investment opportunities. Minister Khawaja highlighted Pakistan’s rapidly growing digital ecosystem, pro-innovation reforms, and expanding startup landscape, noting that the country’s skilled youth and policy momentum have positioned it as a rising global tech destination, as referenced in AT Kearney’s recent assessment.

Both sides explored potential collaboration in ICT, frontier technologies, digital skills training, and institutional capacity building. They also recognized the important role of Pakistani tech talent and entrepreneurs in the UAE, who continue to contribute to innovation, investment flows, and cross-border knowledge exchange.

Ambassador Alzaabi praised Pakistan’s digital progress and reaffirmed the UAE’s interest in deepening technology-focused cooperation. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthen Pakistan–UAE engagement across ICT, innovation, and digital transformation to support mutual economic growth.
