MAKKAH: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched a new digital mechanism to manage the Ramadan iftar programme for fasting worshippers.
Developed in collaboration with the Ehsan National Platform for Charitable Work and the Nusuk Foundation, the system is designed to strengthen governance, transparency, and operational efficiency.
Under the new process, individuals and nonprofit organisations register through the authority’s official website and complete secure payments via the Ehsan platform. Once a transaction is confirmed, iftar meal arrangements are finalised and a formal permit is issued to the donor.
The end-to-end digital workflow ensures that every stage, from registration to meal distribution, is documented and traceable, providing a transparent and organised framework for charitable participation during Ramadan.
