DUBAI — du has announced a collaboration between du Youth Council and Cisco Networking Academy to launch a new youth-led certification programme focused on artificial intelligence and data science for students and young professionals in the UAE.
The 42-hour, self-paced programme is designed for university students and early-career professionals passionate about technology and innovation. It provides hands-on training in AI and data analytics, combining generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude with practical analytics projects using Excel, SQL, and Tableau.
Through the partnership, du Youth Council will leverage Cisco’s global expertise to create an accessible pathway for young Emiratis to acquire future-ready digital skills. Participants will earn globally recognised Cisco certifications and digital badges, enhancing employability in a rapidly evolving job market.
Noora Nasser, du Youth Council at du, said the initiative reflects a commitment to equipping UAE youth with the skills needed to thrive in tomorrow’s economy and contribute to the country’s position as a technology leader.
The programme directly supports UAE Vision 2071 and the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, addressing growing regional and global demand for AI and data analytics expertise.
Ahmed Elkabbany, Regional Manager for the Middle East, Africa and CIS at Cisco’s Digital Impact Office, said the collaboration demonstrates how global technology leaders and local institutions can work together to build a skilled workforce that drives innovation and economic growth.
Available year-round via Cisco Networking Academy’s digital learning platform, the programme offers flexibility for busy students and professionals. du Youth Council will lead outreach and engagement, while Cisco provides course content, certification pathways, and mentorship resources.
Cisco Networking Academy has operated in the UAE since 1999 and has trained more than 144,000 learners nationwide. In Cisco’s 2025 fiscal year alone, over 29,000 students were trained across 38 academies in the country.
