e& unit, TNS Global launch ‘South Route’ to boost Central Asia-UAE connectivity

e& Carrier & Wholesale, the international wholesale arm of global technology group e&, has partnered with TNS Global to launch the “South Route,” a new high-performance connectivity corridor linking Kazakhstan and the UAE. The initiative is designed to strengthen digital connectivity between Central Asia and the Middle East while improving resilience, latency, and route diversity for international data traffic.

The South Route establishes a terrestrial connectivity pathway built on diverse, multi-operator infrastructure, enabling operators, hyperscalers, and enterprises to access secure and scalable connectivity without relying on single transit routes. The corridor is engineered to support rising demand for international capacity, cloud interconnectivity, and carrier-grade services as digital traffic between regions continues to grow.

The collaboration forms part of a broader strategy to position Central Asia as a digital bridge between continents, expanding terrestrial connectivity options beyond traditional routes. By leveraging TNS Global’s extensive fibre footprint across Kazakhstan and its 30 cross-border connections, the route enhances regional interconnection while reinforcing the UAE’s role as a major digital hub.

According to e&, the South Route complements its existing regional interconnection infrastructure by providing low-latency connectivity, with round-trip delay from Almaty estimated at approximately 48 milliseconds. The initiative aims to support hyperscalers, carriers, and enterprises seeking reliable, high-capacity digital corridors linking Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, contributing to the development of a modern Digital Silk Route.
