Ericsson and stc partner to support critical communications in Saudi Arabia

Ericsson and specialized by stc have signed a memorandum of understanding to accelerate the development of advanced mission-critical communication capabilities supporting Saudi Arabia’s public safety ecosystem. The collaboration brings together Ericsson’s expertise in secure, high-availability networks with specialized by stc’s nationwide digital infrastructure to strengthen communication systems used by emergency and critical service providers.

The partnership focuses on enabling reliable, real-time communication tools for first responders, including police, ambulance, civil protection, and emergency management teams. Planned capabilities include mission-critical push-to-talk and push-to-video services, AI-driven incident analytics, and high-precision location technologies designed to improve situational awareness and operational efficiency during emergency scenarios.

The initiative also includes the integration of Internet of Things sensors and smart vehicle systems into unified communication frameworks, supporting faster emergency response times, improved coordination, and enhanced resilience across public safety operations. The companies noted that secure and uninterrupted connectivity remains essential for critical environments where performance and reliability are paramount.

As part of the agreement, Ericsson and specialized by stc will conduct joint validation programmes and field trials simulating high-demand emergency conditions to ensure network performance and security standards are met. The collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 objectives, supporting broader digital transformation efforts while strengthening national readiness for emergency and mission-critical operations.
