Red Sea Global has announced the opening of ADRENA, a new adventure and entertainment district set to launch on 1 March as part of the Kingdom’s Red Sea tourism development. The district introduces more than 20 attractions focused on water sports and outdoor adventure, positioning the project as a key addition to Saudi Arabia’s expanding leisure and tourism infrastructure.
Located near Shura Island, ADRENA will feature a range of activities including surfing, wakeboarding, diving, skateboarding, and beach sports. The centrepiece attraction is the Kingdom’s largest saltwater surf pool, measuring 215 metres in length and capable of generating waves up to 2.1 metres high. The facility incorporates programmable wave technology, allowing experiences to be tailored to different skill levels.
The project reflects Red Sea Global’s broader approach to regenerative tourism, combining entertainment with sustainability-focused engineering. The district uses a closed-loop seawater system that draws, filters, and circulates seawater through attractions before returning it safely to the environment. Freshwater used across the site is recycled for irrigation, reducing environmental impact and supporting long-term sustainability goals.
Additional facilities include a wakeboarding lake, snorkelling trails, a deep diving pool, a skatepark, BMX pump track, and family-oriented water play areas. Accessibility has been integrated into the design through adaptable activity options and zero-depth pool entries, enabling broader participation across visitor groups.
ADRENA will be operated by Red Sea Sports & Entertainment Co., which manages several adventure and marine experience brands within the Red Sea destination. The development builds on the momentum of the wider Red Sea project, which began welcoming guests in 2023 and currently includes multiple operational hotels supported by Red Sea International Airport, connecting the destination to major regional and international cities.
