stc Bahrain provides IoT solutions to NBH Loop

MANAMA — stc Bahrain has delivered private connectivity and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for the SOS infrastructure supporting the Nasser bin Hamad (NBH) Loop, a 50-kilometer dedicated cycling path located in Zallaq and officially inaugurated as part of Bahrain’s national sports infrastructure development.

The project, implemented in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, integrates advanced connectivity across SOS emergency stations positioned along the cycling track. Powered by stc Bahrain’s 5G network, the solution enables reliable communication and rapid emergency response capabilities, enhancing safety for cyclists, runners, and visitors using the facility.

The NBH Loop, described as the longest dedicated cycling path of its kind in Bahrain, has been designed to meet international standards while promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement. The facility also includes amenities such as bike rental services and dedicated areas for walking and running, positioning it as a key destination for sports and recreational activities in the Kingdom.

The deployment highlights stc Bahrain’s role in supporting national digital infrastructure projects and advancing smart city initiatives through secure connectivity solutions. The integration of IoT-enabled emergency infrastructure reflects the growing use of connected technologies to improve public safety and operational efficiency in large-scale public environments.

Officials noted that the initiative aligns with broader efforts to develop integrated sports infrastructure that enhances quality of life while encouraging greater participation in physical activity. The project also demonstrates the importance of public-private collaboration in delivering technology-enabled national developments with social and community impact.
