Algeria has launched four new digital platforms for its higher education sector, raising the total number of integrated university digital services to 73 as part of its broader digital transformation agenda.
The platforms were officially introduced on February 24 in Algiers by Kamel Baddari, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. He said universities, data centers and research laboratories nationwide played a key role in expanding the sector’s digital ecosystem, reflecting significant progress in digitalizing teaching, research, governance and student services.
The newly launched platforms focus on both strategic and social priorities. The Digital Registry of University Programs is designed to improve the management of university economic initiatives and facilitate the transformation of research outcomes into high-value economic and social projects.
Another key initiative, the University Network of Incubators and Entrepreneurship Development Centers (AUNEI), aims to strengthen the national innovation ecosystem by supporting students and researchers in launching start-ups.
In addition, authorities introduced an online psychological consultation platform to promote mental health within universities, alongside an integrated meal reservation system embedded in the student mobile application to modernize campus catering services.
The expansion builds on ongoing digitalization efforts, including electronic diploma management, scientific research monitoring portals and dematerialized administrative systems intended to reduce bureaucracy, enhance governance and strengthen collaboration with socio-economic partners.
