Skipr raises $2 million seed round to build sovereign AI trust infrastructure from Abu Dhabi’s Hub71

Skipr, an AI infrastructure startup based in Abu Dhabi’s Hub71 ecosystem, has secured $2 million in seed funding at a $10 million valuation to accelerate the development of sovereign AI trust infrastructure.

The funding will support the company’s efforts to build a secure framework that enables artificial intelligence systems to communicate, coordinate and exchange value across cloud environments and national borders while preserving data sovereignty for governments and institutions.

As AI systems increasingly operate autonomously across organisations, cloud platforms and jurisdictions, Skipr aims to address the growing need for secure interoperability between these systems. Its platform provides a trust layer that allows AI tools to collaborate while maintaining strict governance over data, compliance and decision-making processes.

The company’s technology is built around several core capabilities, including cryptographic identity frameworks to authenticate systems and participants, policy-based routing that controls how information and decisions are shared, and auditable interoperability layers designed to ensure transparency and regulatory compliance.

Skipr is already working with telecom operators, AI laboratories, cybersecurity companies and data centre providers to deploy sovereign AI services at both national and enterprise levels. These early collaborations position the company as a key infrastructure enabler for organisations building AI-ready digital environments.

Chief Executive Officer Andreas Hartl said the funding will accelerate the creation of a foundational trust network for the AI era, enabling governments and enterprises to deploy AI systems securely and at scale.

Operating within the Hub71+ Digital Assets ecosystem, Skipr is part of Abu Dhabi’s broader strategy to build globally relevant digital infrastructure and strengthen sovereign AI capabilities.
