Orange Tunisie Launches Satellite Broadband to Connect Remote Areas

Orange Tunisie has launched a new satellite broadband service in partnership with Eutelsat, aiming to extend high-speed internet access to remote and underserved regions across Tunisia. The service delivers speeds of up to 100 Mbps and is designed to bridge connectivity gaps where traditional telecom infrastructure is limited or unavailable.

The nationwide offering, branded as Orange Satellite, targets both individual users and professionals, with tailored packages for those operating in isolated areas. By leveraging Eutelsat’s latest-generation KONNECT satellite, the service promises enhanced bandwidth, improved signal stability, and higher data throughput compared to earlier satellite technologies.

This launch builds on a broader multi-year partnership established in 2024 between Orange Middle East and Africa and Eutelsat, initially covering markets such as Jordan, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The collaboration aims to expand reliable broadband access across regions with persistent connectivity challenges.

In addition, Orange has strengthened its satellite strategy through a 2025 agreement with Eutelsat Group to utilize the OneWeb low Earth orbit (LEO) constellation, targeting enterprise and government connectivity needs across Africa and the Middle East.

With operations spanning multiple African markets, Orange continues to position satellite broadband as a key enabler of digital inclusion, particularly in rural and hard-to-reach areas.
