Egypt Launches Free 5G/6G Open RAN Training to Boost Telecom Talent

Egypt is accelerating its push to build a future-ready telecom workforce with the launch of a fully funded training program focused on 5G and 6G Open RAN technologies. The initiative, led by the National Telecommunication Institute under the “Digital Youth of Egypt – Ready for Employment” program, targets young professionals aiming to enter the telecom and ICT sectors.

The four-month program combines technical training with real-world experience, covering Open RAN architecture—an open, multi-vendor approach that enhances flexibility, reduces dependency on single suppliers, and enables faster network innovation. Participants will undergo three months of hands-on training followed by one month of on-the-job experience with partner companies.

Beyond technical skills, the program also emphasizes professional development, including communication, project management, and workplace readiness. Additional support such as transportation is provided to ensure accessibility for participants.

Graduates are expected to transition directly into employment opportunities within the telecom ecosystem, aligning with Egypt’s broader goal of strengthening its digital infrastructure and talent pipeline.

The initiative underscores Egypt’s strategic focus on developing skilled talent to support next-generation networks and enhance its competitiveness in the global ICT landscape.
