Abu Dhabi, UAE – The Integrated Transport Centre (Abu Dhabi Mobility) has welcomed a high-level delegation from Shenzhen, China, renowned for its advanced smart city initiatives, to discuss and collaborate on smart transport solutions.
This meeting signifies a commitment to positioning Abu Dhabi as a global leader in smart transport and sustainability, leveraging Shenzhen’s expertise in digital transformation and innovative technologies.
“This meeting is part of Abu Dhabi Mobility’s efforts to position the emirate as a global model for implementing smart transport solutions and achieving sustainability,” stated an Abu Dhabi Mobility representative.
A key outcome of the meeting was the launch of a digital transformation project for Abu Dhabi’s public transport system. This project, part of a G2G partnership between the two cities, will focus on integrating cutting-edge technologies, including artificial intelligence, to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.
The partnership also includes knowledge exchange and training programs for Emirati employees in the latest digital transport technologies. This initiative aims to enhance the user experience and promote sustainable transport solutions, aligning with the goals outlined in the International Joint Transport Laboratory agreement signed earlier this year.
During the visit, Abu Dhabi Mobility showcased its Green Bus Programme, featuring state-of-the-art electric buses manufactured in China, including the first 18-metre articulated electric bus in the Middle East.
“We look forward to enhancing cooperation with Shenzhen and leveraging their extensive expertise and knowledge, which will allow us to expedite our digital transformation journey in Abu Dhabi,” said Abdulla Al Marzouqi, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Mobility.
The collaboration between Abu Dhabi and Shenzhen demonstrates a shared commitment to driving innovation in the transport sector. By exchanging knowledge and implementing advanced technologies, both cities are striving to create efficient, sustainable, and user-centric transport systems for the future.
