Saudi Arabia will host the 19th edition of the UN Internet Governance Forum (IGF) from December 15-19, 2024, at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh. The forum will bring together over 10,000 participants from 160 countries, including more than 1,000 international speakers, to discuss critical internet policies under the theme “Building our Multistakeholder Digital Future.”
Abdullah Al-Swaha, Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, described the event as an exceptional platform for fostering international digital cooperation in the age of artificial intelligence. The forum aims to facilitate dialogue among governments, the private sector, non-profits, innovators, and pioneers to share ideas for driving economic growth, prosperity, and a sustainable digital future for humanity.
The forum will feature 300 sessions and workshops, where participants will engage in discussions on emerging digital challenges, internet governance policies, and best practices. The event will focus on four key areas: innovation and risk in the digital space, development and sustainability, promoting human rights and inclusiveness, and improving digital governance of the internet.
This event marks a significant step in enhancing global cooperation on digital governance and addressing the challenges of the rapidly evolving digital world.
