Orange Egypt has officially rolled out its embedded electronic SIM (eSIM) service, offering customers cutting-edge telecommunications technology. The service, approved by the National Telecom Regulatory Authority (NTRA), is now available through the “My Orange” app and at branches nationwide.
The eSIM is an integrated digital SIM that eliminates the need for traditional physical SIM cards. Depending on the phone model, customers can activate up to 10 lines, with a maximum of two lines functioning simultaneously. Existing Orange customers can easily switch from a traditional SIM to an eSIM via the “My Orange” app after obtaining a QR code for activation. It’s important for users to confirm that their smartphones support eSIM functionality, which can be checked through the app or at any Orange store. New customers must visit a branch for service subscription and activation, as per NTRA guidelines.
The app provides an easy-to-follow guide for switching to eSIM, requiring users to upload their national ID photo and input their maternal grandfather’s name for verification. This efficient process ensures convenience while maintaining data accuracy.
