Huawei has signed a cooperation agreement with Telecom Egypt to enhance ICT infrastructure in preparation for 5G services in Egypt. The partnership introduces advanced outdoor and indoor solutions, supporting Telecom Egypt’s goal of becoming a leading ICT operator and fostering digital transformation with the latest 4G/5G technologies.
Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications, held discussions at MWC 2025 with global leaders from ZTE, Sigma Technology, and Palo Alto Networks. The meetings focused on enhancing digital infrastructure, local manufacturing, cybersecurity, and leveraging Egyptian talent for technology projects in Egypt and North Africa.
UN Envoy Amandeep Singh Gill commended Egypt’s digital transformation efforts, highlighting its robust infrastructure and the increasing focus on digitization across the Arab world. Gill emphasized the need for global cooperation in digital advancements, especially to foster youth employment. He also discussed regional collaboration on AI governance and digital trade expansion.

Egypt is also investing in its workforce, training 200,000 young professionals in AI and digital technologies to boost competitiveness.
