Morocco and Senegal signed 17 new agreements covering diplomacy, digital economy, education, transport, agriculture, and industry. The accords deepen strategic cooperation, strengthen youth and academic exchange, boost SME development, and enhance regional connectivity, reinforcing a shared vision for long-term growth and partnership across Africa.
Senegal has launched a nationwide satellite antenna program to connect one million citizens in remote and underserved areas to the Internet by the end of 2026. The initiative prioritizes schools, health facilities, border areas, and isolated government buildings. It supports Senegal’s broader digital transformation efforts, which include data centers, satellite deployment, regulatory cooperation with the ITU, and expanded telecom infrastructure.
Senegal’s ARTP and the International Telecommunication Union have signed a partnership to support young women in digital development. Launched during CMDT-25 in Baku, the initiative will build skills, strengthen digital trade participation, and create supportive commercial ecosystems. Detailed implementation plans will be released, reflecting Senegal’s push to expand its digital economy.
Senegal’s FAT Dakar 2025 forum highlighted the strategic importance of digital terrestrial television in strengthening Africa’s digital sovereignty and audiovisual competitiveness. Discussions covered infrastructure, cybersecurity, and local content, while bilateral talks with Algeria and Burkina Faso advanced cooperation on regulation and sovereign broadcasting systems. The event aligns with Senegal’s New Technological Deal.
