The Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) has announced the launch of several technical infrastructure expansion projects and new data centers in Riyadh, marking a first for the kingdom. These initiatives aim to enhance the capacity and operational efficiency of data centers.
At the launch event, SDAIA President Dr. Abdullah Al Ghamdi emphasized that these projects are part of a broader strategy to develop sustainable data centers. These centers are built according to the best global practices and standards set by the UPTIME Institute, a leading authority on data center evaluation and classification.
The new data centers feature an electrical capacity of up to 65 kilowatts per cabin and incorporate highly efficient electrical and mechanical systems.
The launch event was attended by senior officials, including Dr. Essam bin Abdullah Al-Waqit, Director of the National Information Center, along with other SDAIA representatives.
