EDOTCO Bangladesh, the leading digital infrastructure provider in the country, has joined forces with the Bangladesh Air Force to deliver essential relief to communities impacted by severe flooding in the Feni, Noakhali, and Cumilla Districts. As part of its ‘Tower to Community’ CSR initiative, EDOTCO is distributing food, medicine, and hygiene supplies to 2,500 individuals in the affected areas. The company’s CSR team handed over the relief materials to the Bangladesh Air Force Authority yesterday.
Operating around 18,000 towers across Bangladesh, EDOTCO connects millions nationwide. Despite the disruptions caused by the floods, EDOTCO’s dedicated team is working tirelessly to restore network connectivity and ensure that communication remains intact. The company is collaborating with the Bangladesh Army and other governmental and non-governmental organizations to support relief efforts. EDOTCO has also opened its tower sites to provide free mobile charging facilities, allowing people in flood-affected areas to stay connected and access vital services.
Sunil Issac, Country Managing Director of EDOTCO Bangladesh, emphasized the company’s commitment to safeguarding communities: “Our priority is to save lives, minimize damage, and facilitate recovery. Our team is working around the clock to keep tower sites operational, especially in the most remote and heavily impacted areas. We are deploying backup resources to ensure mobile networks remain accessible.”
He also expressed gratitude to EDOTCO’s partners and collaborators, including the Bangladesh Army and voluntary organizations: “The unity displayed in overcoming this national crisis is exemplary and commendable.”
Isaac called for greater collaboration within the telecom industry to ensure preparedness and effective crisis management. He stressed the importance of forming a dedicated task force to respond promptly to natural disasters, given their increasing frequency in Bangladesh.
