MUSCAT: A new partnership between Al Dhahirah Governorate and Oman Towers Company will bring ornamental telecom towers to the region, enhancing both the infrastructure and the landscape. The agreement was signed by Najeeb Ali al Rawas, Governor of Al Dhahirah, and Eng Majid al Kharoosi, Managing Director of Oman Towers.
This collaboration aims to blend modern construction methods with the region’s development strategy, supporting Al Dhahirah’s economic and social growth plans. The initiative will not only improve telecom services but also transform these functional towers into prominent landmarks.
The first of these towers will be erected in the Wilayat of Ibri, standing 40 meters tall and featuring a 17-meter high digital advertising screen. It will also display various symbols and logos, along with a digital clock, integrating utility with aesthetic appeal. The chosen location meets the technical requirements set by Oman Towers Company.
Eng Majid al Kharoosi highlighted the dual benefits of this project, saying, “This initiative not only aims to harmonize these essential structures with their environments but also to reduce visual pollution. We are committed to becoming landmarks that enhance the beauty of Ibri.”
Since its inception in 2018, Oman Towers has been dedicated to innovating the design and functionality of communication towers to serve urban and tourist areas effectively. This agreement is part of the company’s broader goal to modernize infrastructure while respecting and enhancing the local landscape. The construction of additional decorative towers across Al Dhahirah Governorate is planned, following the completion of the Ibri tower.
