Hisense, a leading global home appliance corporation, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art research and development (R&D) center at Dubai Internet City, aimed at fostering climate-friendly solutions tailored for the Middle East. The ceremony was attended by notable figures including Dr. Abdul Rahman Hassan Almuaini from the UAE Ministry of Economy, Zen Zanrong of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, Chinese Consul General Ou Boqian, Hisense Group Chairman Jia Shaoquian, and key executives from Tecom Group PJSC and Dubai Internet City.
This new R&D center is a cornerstone of Hisense’s commitment to catalyzing innovation in the Middle East, focusing on developing products that are attuned to the unique needs and cultural preferences of the regional market. Jia Shaoquian emphasized that this facility is integral to understanding and addressing local consumer needs, thereby crafting impactful and relevant technological solutions.
Ammar Al Malik, Executive Vice President of Commercial at Tecom Group and Managing Director of Dubai Internet City, highlighted Dubai’s role as a global innovation hub. The city’s dedication to fostering significant technological advancements aligns with Dubai’s Economic Agenda ‘D33’ and the Dubai Research and Development Programme, positioning it as a pivotal center for future-ready developments.
The Hisense R&D center will serve as an innovation hub, employing over 40 specialists who will focus on enhancing products and services to meet regional demands. The center’s initiatives will include improving energy efficiency and advancing sustainable technologies to minimize environmental impact.
Hisense’s investment extends beyond R&D to local manufacturing, aiming to deliver high-quality, innovative solutions across various product lines, including HVAC technologies. The facility will also function as a training academy for Hisense’s regional sales and service teams, as well as channel partners, ensuring top-tier customer support.
With this launch, Hisense joins an elite group of technology firms at Dubai Internet City, such as Google, Microsoft, Nvidia, and MasterCard, further enhancing the community’s reputation as a beacon of globally impactful innovation.
