RIYADH — Saudi Arabia has secured the second rank among G20 countries in the United Nations Telecommunication Infrastructure Index (TII), according to a recent report. This achievement underscores the significant strides made in enhancing the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure and the effectiveness of government initiatives aimed at improving e-government services.
The TII assesses global telecommunications infrastructure development and is a crucial part of the E-Government Development Index (EGDI), which measures the efficacy of national e-government strategies. The strong telecommunications infrastructure in Saudi Arabia is instrumental in driving economic growth, attracting foreign investments, and spurring innovation.
Additionally, robust telecommunications infrastructure supports critical sectors such as education and healthcare, contributes to social development, improves the quality of life, and promotes sustainable development across the Kingdom, as highlighted by the Saudi Press Agency.
