A recent report has revealed the escalating risk of cyber attacks, indicating that 30.8% of Internet users in Kuwait were targeted over the past year. Turkey had the highest exposure rate, with 41.8% of its users facing cyber threats, according to the findings compiled by Kaspersky, a global cybersecurity firm that monitors the Middle East, Africa, and Turkey.
The report ranks Gulf countries by their cyber attack exposure, with Qatar leading the GCC list at 38.8%, followed by Bahrain at 35.1%. The UAE recorded a rate of 31.7%, Kuwait at 30.8%, Saudi Arabia at 29.9%, and Oman at 23.4%.
In the broader region, the report highlighted that 27.4% of Internet users in Egypt encountered cyber threats, while 24.4% were affected in Pakistan. In Africa, South Africa reported a 35% exposure rate, Nigeria saw 35.7%, and Kenya had the highest percentage on the continent, with 39.2% of its users targeted by cyber attacks.
In a related announcement, the General Authority for Communications and Information Technology (CITRA) reminded radio amateurs that importing any radio equipment or devices requires prior approval from the authority, in accordance with regulations governing amateur radio services.
