Stellantis has completed the acquisition of the remaining 49% stake in Sopriam from Al Mada, marking a strategic move to fully integrate its import and distribution operations in Morocco. The announcement was made on January 13, 2025.
Effective immediately, all of Stellantis’ commercial activities in Morocco, covering brands such as Peugeot, Citroën, DS Automobiles, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Abarth, Jeep®, and Alfa Romeo, will be consolidated under Stellantis Maroc (formerly known as FCA Maroc). Sopriam will continue managing direct distribution activities through its extensive branch network.
This acquisition follows an initial announcement made in July 2024 and aims to foster synergies that will enhance customer experience across Morocco. The move aligns with Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategy, aiming for a 22% market share and leadership in the Middle East and Africa region.
Stellantis N.V., listed on the NYSE, Euronext Milan, and Euronext Paris under the symbols STLA, STLAM, and STLAP, is executing its strategic plan to become a mobility tech company while striving for carbon neutrality by 2038.
