Cross-border payments platform Thunes has integrated PayPal’s international payouts service, Hyperwallet, into its Direct Global Network. This integration allows Hyperwallet customers to transfer funds in real-time to over 450 million mobile wallets and bank accounts across key markets in Asia, including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, South Korea, and Vietnam.
Hyperwallet’s global merchant network, which includes ride-hailing apps, marketplaces, and social media platforms, provides users with preferred methods for accessing their funds. Payout preferences in the APAC region vary based on factors such as banking access, the availability of real-time payment systems, and the widespread use of digital wallets in each market.
Thunes CEO Floris de Kort commented, “Welcoming PayPal’s Hyperwallet into our Direct Global Network highlights our ability to provide powerful new capabilities to leading fintechs. Our network, which connects directly and transparently to over 7 billion bank accounts and mobile wallets globally, combined with our SmartX Treasury System and Fortress Compliance Platform, positions Thunes uniquely to help Hyperwallet expand its reach in rapidly growing markets and improve cross-border payment services.”
