UAE telecom operator du has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding with China Telecom Global (CTG) to strengthen connectivity and accelerate the deployment of advanced digital services across the country. The agreement aligns with the UAE’s ambition to position itself as a global technology and smart nation hub.
Under the MoU, du and China Telecom Global will collaborate across several next-generation technology areas, including advanced video services, connected car solutions, autonomous networks, voice and roaming services, and travel e-SIM capabilities. The partnership will focus on delivering near-term customer value while laying the foundation for deeper, long-term technology collaboration.
The cooperation will explore AI- and big data-driven video solutions for industry use cases, smart vehicle connectivity through IoT integration, and AI-powered autonomous network management to improve performance and efficiency. Enhanced roaming and travel e-SIM services will also aim to provide seamless international connectivity for users.
du CEO Fahad Al Hassawi said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to bringing world-class innovation to the UAE while supporting the nation’s digital vision. China Telecom Global’s General Manager for Africa and the Middle East, Ziyu Dong, highlighted the opportunity to combine CTG’s global infrastructure and expertise with du’s market knowledge to advance smart city ambitions and connectivity across the UAE.
