Mastercard has partnered with Egypt-based fleet technology company Fuelin to digitize fuel payment management for businesses across the Middle East and North Africa. The collaboration integrates Fuelin’s real-time controls and analytics with Mastercard’s global payment network, supporting the mobility sector’s shift from cash-based processes to secure, data-driven digital transactions.
Under the partnership, Fuelin will issue both virtual and physical commercial cards operating on Mastercard’s open-loop ecosystem. Fleet operators will be able to authorize, cap, and monitor fuel transactions in real time, supported by advanced security features such as tokenization and contactless payments. The solution is designed to reduce fraud, improve compliance, and eliminate inefficiencies associated with cash, vouchers, and manual reconciliation.
Beyond payments, the collaboration enhances operational intelligence and loyalty capabilities. Fuelin’s platform links card programs to station-level offers and non-fuel services, including vehicle maintenance and quick-service options. Fleet managers gain access to a unified dashboard that enables control settings by driver or vehicle, automated reconciliation across networks, and visibility into fuel usage and CO₂ savings.
Fuel stations also benefit from faster checkout, fewer transaction errors, improved loyalty redemption, and deeper insights into B2B demand. At a broader level, increased digitization supports greater transparency for regulators and more reliable reporting for taxation and environmental monitoring.
