Halal Games launches with values-driven game development focus

Halal Games has launched as a new Egypt-based game studio focused on creating original titles for regional and global audiences while remaining ethically grounded.

The studio is targeting PC platforms initially, with plans to expand into mobile as it grows. Currently operating as a distributed team of fewer than 10 people across Egypt and abroad, Halal Games positions itself as an early-stage developer with a clear creative and cultural vision.

The company says its goal is to deliver fun, meaningful, and engaging games without gambling mechanics, musical instruments, or explicit content, while maintaining strong entertainment value and creative quality.

Halal Games has already released one title, Apocalypse, and is now developing a horror game centred on immersive environmental storytelling. The upcoming project uses subtle mechanics to build tension, mystery, and psychological fear rather than relying on shock or excess.

“Halal Games was inspired by the idea that games can be both entertaining and ethically grounded,” said CEO and founder Hassan Sherif. “I wanted to create experiences that respect values without sacrificing creativity or quality. Our vision is to build original, meaningful games that prove ethical design and strong gameplay can coexist, while opening the door for a new wave of values-driven game development.”
