Jordan targets regional ICT expansion through new chamber initiative

Jordan is accelerating efforts to expand its ICT sector into regional markets, with the Jordan Chamber of Commerce and the Information and Communications Technology Association (int@j) launching a joint initiative to support growth in Saudi Arabia, Syria, and Iraq.

The collaboration aims to help Jordanian technology companies scale beyond domestic boundaries by facilitating market access, partnerships, and business development opportunities across neighbouring markets. The initiative will focus on enabling ICT exports, strengthening commercial ties, and positioning Jordanian firms to compete regionally.

Jordan’s ICT sector has been a key contributor to the country’s economy, with strengths in software development, outsourcing, and digital services. Expanding into regional markets is seen as a critical step in unlocking new revenue streams and scaling local companies.

The targeted markets offer significant opportunities, particularly as demand for digital services, telecom infrastructure, and enterprise solutions continues to grow across the region. Cross-border expansion is also expected to support knowledge transfer and ecosystem integration.

The move reflects a broader strategy to position Jordan as a regional technology exporter, leveraging its talent base and established ICT capabilities to compete in larger, high-growth markets.

Editor’s Note:
Regional expansion is becoming a key growth lever for smaller tech ecosystems like Jordan. Strengthening cross-border ICT trade highlights a shift toward positioning local talent and services on a broader regional stage.
