Paymob Integrates Apple Pay to Revolutionize Digital Payments in Egypt

Paymob has announced that its merchant network in Egypt can now accept Apple Pay, allowing consumers to use their Apple devices for secure, seamless purchases in-store, in-app, and online. This integration marks a significant milestone in Egypt’s digital payments landscape following the recent launch of Apple Pay in the country.

With Apple Pay, customers can make contactless payments by double-clicking the side button on their iPhone or Apple Watch and holding it near a payment terminal. Each transaction is secured through Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode, along with a one-time dynamic security code. This ensures a private and secure payment experience.

Apple Pay is also available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac, enabling users to make faster, more convenient purchases in apps or on merchant websites without the need to repeatedly enter card details or shipping information.

For merchants, the integration of Apple Pay provides a modern, efficient payment solution that reduces cart abandonment and boosts sales, addressing the growing demand for digital convenience. This launch aligns with Paymob’s commitment to empowering businesses with technologies that enhance customer experiences and foster growth.

Mina Makar, VP of Product at Paymob, shared, “This is a pivotal moment for Egypt’s payments landscape. With Apple Pay now available, merchants gain access to a globally loved solution, demonstrating its transformative potential. At Paymob, we are dedicated to helping businesses tap into this market potential, driving their growth in the digital economy.”

Paymob, which became the first FinTech company to receive the Central Bank of Egypt’s Payments Facilitator license in 2018, is a comprehensive payment provider offering over 50 payment methods to help merchants accept payments across multiple channels.
