Orange Jordan Celebrates Graduation of “Heroes of Change” from Coding Academy

Orange Jordan has celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of “Heroes of Change” from its Coding Academy, a key initiative under the Orange Digital Centers (ODC) umbrella. This project, launched in collaboration with Proparco, the private sector financing arm of Agence Française de Développement Group (AFD Group), aims to empower youth in four Jordanian governorates—Zarqa, Irbid, Aqaba, and Balqa—by expanding their digital skills to meet the growing demands of the job market.

The graduation ceremony marked the completion of the first cohort, with over 120 students successfully graduating. Proparco contributed €1 million in financial support to enhance the Coding Academy’s activities in various regions, advancing the vision of digital inclusion across Jordan.

Philippe Mansour, CEO of Orange Jordan, expressed gratitude for the collaboration with Proparco, noting that the first phase of the initiative helped connect youth with leading companies through a job fair, providing them with the opportunity to start their careers in the digital sector.

Mansour also highlighted the company’s commitment to further growing the digital skills of youth in future phases, ensuring exceptional talents enter the ICT sector. He extended his thanks to the Agence Française de Développement Group, Simplon.Co, ICT sector companies, and other partners for their vital contributions to the program’s success.

Sebastien Fleury, Regional Director for Proparco in the Middle East, emphasized the importance of vocational training and innovation programs like this one in ensuring youth employment. He stated that such initiatives bridge the gap between the market’s needs and local skills, with job creation being a core pillar of Proparco’s strategy. Supporting the Orange Coding Academy aligns with this mission.
