Widebot Raises $3 Million to Develop Arabic AI Model “AQL Mind”

Widebot, an Egyptian AI startup, has successfully secured $3 million in a pre-Series A funding round to advance its Arabic large language model (LLM), “AQL Mind.” Originally based in Cairo, the company has relocated to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. AQL Mind is designed to understand various Arabic dialects, offering versatility in multiple contexts.

The funding round was led by Keheilan Asset Management II, with participation from Saudi investment firm Wafra, Enza Capital, DisrupTech Ventures, LoftyInc Capital, Den VC, and SparkLabs Ventures.

CEO and co-founder Mohammed Nabil expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating that AQL Mind will provide secure and personalized AI experiences for Saudi government entities and businesses. This investment highlights the growing interest in AI solutions catering to the Arabic-speaking market and emphasizes the region’s commitment to technological growth.
