The Global Data & AI Virtual Tech Conference 2025 began on Tuesday in Amman, organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship. The event focuses on empowering education through AI, expanding AI innovation within institutions, and advancing AI technologies in Jordan’s public sector to drive digital transformation, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
During the opening ceremony, Ministry Secretary-General Samira Zoubi highlighted that the conference serves as a platform for dialogue, expert exchange, and exploring cooperation in leveraging AI and data for societal benefits. She emphasized that the world is experiencing unprecedented transformations driven by advancements in AI and big data.
Zoubi noted that these shifts are not only reshaping economies but also altering the roles of governments, service delivery mechanisms, and the tools used to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development. She emphasized that Jordan views investing in knowledge and technology as crucial to building a brighter future, a robust digital economy, a more efficient government, and services that meet citizens’ needs.
This vision was reflected in Jordan’s launch of the National Artificial Intelligence Policy in 2020, followed by the National Strategy for 2023–2027, which includes 68 projects spanning education, health, agriculture, energy, water, government services, cybersecurity, and smart cities. Zoubi also highlighted the government’s efforts to develop digital infrastructure, expand cloud computing, and update legislation to ensure a safe, reliable environment for technological progress.
The Ministry Secretary-General also noted that these efforts focus on building human capacity through training programs for public sector employees, youth, and entrepreneurs, in collaboration with local and international partners.
