Nokia Partners with Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition to Support Digital Morocco 2030 Strategy

Nokia and Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bolster the country’s Digital Morocco 2030 strategy. The agreement, signed by Minister Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni and Nokia’s Vice President for North, West, and Central Africa, Pierre Chaume, aims to strengthen Morocco’s digital infrastructure and innovation capabilities.

As Morocco prepares to host major international sports events in 2025 and 2030, Nokia will provide telecommunications expertise to ensure high-quality connectivity and enhance digital experiences for visitors and participants. The collaboration will also support Morocco’s digital readiness through 5G networks, fiber optic infrastructure, and initiatives like the High Debit Plan and infrastructure-sharing frameworks.

The partnership includes the establishment of the Nokia Innovation Center (NIC), which will serve as a hub for training local talent, fostering research, and developing tailored technological solutions. The NIC will also support the Ministry’s Al Jazari initiative, empowering local innovation in the country.

Furthermore, the MoU outlines plans to enhance digital skills among Moroccan youth through internationally recognized certification programs in telecommunications, IT, and digital technologies.

Nokia will also introduce its Network as Code (NaC) platform to establish a National Digital Fabric (NDF). This national gateway will provide access to 4G and 5G telecommunications services via application programming interfaces (APIs), enabling startups, enterprises, and universities to create innovative applications that contribute to Morocco’s digital economy.

The MoU builds on prior collaborations, including the opening of the Innovation Center in October 2023 and a ministerial visit to Nokia’s headquarters in Finland earlier this year.

“Nokia is proud to collaborate with the Moroccan government in achieving its ambitious digital goals. Through knowledge-sharing, talent development, and cutting-edge technology, we look forward to supporting Morocco’s digital evolution,” said Pierre Chaume, Vice President of Nokia’s Network Infrastructure in North, West, and Central Africa.

“This partnership reinforces our commitment to advancing the Digital Morocco 2030 strategy. By leveraging Nokia’s expertise, we aim to accelerate Morocco’s digital transformation and foster an innovation-driven economy,” added Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister of Digital Transition and Administration Reform.
