The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Batelco, a subsidiary of the Beyon Group, to enhance digital infrastructure in Bahrain. The agreement, signed at the Bahrain Smart Cities Summit & Exhibition 2025, focuses on improving connectivity, voice communications, smart security, and digital signage.
His Excellency Eng. Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, highlighted that the MoU will strengthen cooperation and provide technical expertise to enhance the ministry’s connectivity systems. The agreement also aims to assess and improve voice communication systems.
Eng. Sheikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs, emphasized the MoU’s role in supporting sustainable development and digital infrastructure. Batelco’s CEO, Mr. Meetham Abdullah, expressed enthusiasm for further cooperation in advancing digital infrastructure and exploring opportunities in related technologies.
Batelco’s General Manager of the Commercial Sector, Mr. Abdulla Danish, explained that the partnership will offer a comprehensive suite of digital solutions, including advanced connectivity and smart city infrastructure, to enhance the ministry’s operations and quality of municipal services. This collaboration aims to lay the groundwork for more developed and innovative cities in Bahrain.
