Saudi Data and AI Authority Showcases Digital Transformation and Smart City Progress at Expo 2025 Osaka

RIYADH — The Saudi Data and AI Authority highlighted the Kingdom’s advancements in digital transformation and smart city development during its participation in Saudi events at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.

The authority detailed national initiatives to leverage data and artificial intelligence technologies for enhancing service efficiency and promoting sustainable development, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

Mishari Almishari, Deputy Director of the National Information Center within the authority, emphasized Saudi Arabia’s steady progress toward an integrated digital society aligned with Vision 2030, which prioritizes digital transformation as a key national goal.

Since its establishment in 2019, the authority has coordinated efforts across the National Information Center, National Center for Artificial Intelligence, and National Data Management Office, playing a pivotal role in AI and data regulation and innovation.

Almishari also highlighted support for smart city projects such as the National Smart C Platform and the Smart Riyadh Operations Center, alongside initiatives fostering innovation including training camps, incubators, accelerators, and national hackathons.

The authority’s presence at Expo 2025 underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to contributing to global AI development and fostering a more inclusive digital future.
