The Islamabad Information Technology Park is set to open on August 14, offering specialised facilities to support tech startups, freelancers, and export-oriented software firms, according to a Ministry of IT official.
Spanning 66,893 square meters with two basements, a ground floor, and nine upper floors, the park will feature 120 office spaces tailored for IT and IT-enabled services (ITeS) companies. It will also include a startup incubation centre with 15 offices designed to nurture emerging tech ventures.
The facility will house a business support centre providing crucial services such as legal, marketing, and financial advisory. Additionally, an industry-academia linkage centre aims to foster collaboration between educational institutions and the IT sector, strengthening innovation and research.
A highlight of the park is its Tier III Data Centre—the first of its kind in Pakistan—offering reliable power and advanced data security compliant with international standards. This development represents a significant advancement in Pakistan’s IT infrastructure.
The park is expected to enhance cooperation among academia, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers on both local and international levels.
Following Islamabad, a similar IT park is planned near Karachi’s airport to further support Pakistan’s growing digital economy.
