MoneyGram Partners with Saudi Mobile Payment Provider tiqmo to Expand Cross-Border Transfers

MoneyGram, a global payments network, has partnered with tiqmo, a fast-growing Saudi mobile payment service, enabling tiqmo users across Saudi Arabia to send money to over 200 countries and territories via MoneyGram’s extensive network.

Through this integration, tiqmo customers gain access to more than 5 billion digital endpoints and over 480,000 MoneyGram locations worldwide, supporting send and receive options in over 120 currencies. In addition to cross-border transfers, tiqmo offers services like bank account transfers, digital wallet payments, cash pick-up, bill payments, and mobile top-ups.

Licensed by the Saudi Central Bank and launched in 2024, tiqmo has quickly become a leading digital wallet in Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The partnership with MoneyGram leverages its global reach and trusted infrastructure, reinforcing tiqmo’s international financial service offerings in one of the world’s largest remittance markets.

Abdulaziz Al-Ajlan, Managing Director at tiqmo, said the collaboration aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 and digital transformation goals, enhancing tiqmo’s digital payments ecosystem for the MENA region.

Ahmed Aly, MoneyGram’s Head for Middle East, South Asia, and Asia Pacific, highlighted that this partnership strengthens financial inclusion and remittance innovation, supporting Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 toward a more digitally empowered financial ecosystem.

According to the World Bank, Saudi Arabia was the world’s second-largest remittance sender in 2022, with over $39 billion sent abroad. This service is expected to benefit customers sending money to major recipient countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Egypt, Indonesia, and Nepal.
