Maroc Telecom and Inwi Launch Joint Ventures to Accelerate FTTH and 5G Rollout in Morocco

Rabat – Maroc Telecom and Inwi have announced the formation of joint ventures, Uni Fiber and Uni Tower, aimed at fast-tracking the deployment of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) and 5G networks across Morocco. The initial investment for the first three years is planned at MAD 4.4 billion (approximately $486 million).

The joint ventures were established following an agreement between Maroc Telecom and Wana Corporate in March and received authorization from Morocco’s National Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ANRT) on June 18.

Uni Fiber will focus on deploying the passive infrastructure required for FTTH services, targeting one million connections within two years and scaling to three million within five years. Meanwhile, Uni Tower plans to build new telecom towers and refurbish existing ones, with goals of erecting 2,000 towers in three years and 6,000 towers over a decade.

Both companies committed to providing open, transparent, and non-discriminatory access to their infrastructure for all authorized operators, in compliance with regulations. They expressed gratitude to the regulatory authority and stakeholders and reiterated their dedication to supporting Morocco’s technological and economic development.
