Turkcell, a leader in sustainability, has commissioned a new solar power plant in Van, Türkiye, spanning 220,400 square meters with an 8.7 MW capacity. The plant can meet the electricity needs of 8,740 households annually. As part of its Renewable Energy Master Plan, Turkcell plans to invest $240 million in solar projects by 2026. General Manager Dr. Ali Taha Koç stated the company aims to cut greenhouse gas emissions by over 50% by 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. Four more power plants are expected to be commissioned soon, increasing renewable capacity.
