The Egyptian Navy Hydrographic Department (ENHD) has unveiled two new S-101 test datasets covering the key maritime ports of Alexandria and Port Said, marking a major advancement in Egypt’s hydrographic modernization efforts. These datasets adopt the next-generation S-100 framework standard, enhancing the precision and clarity of electronic navigation charts to improve maritime safety and operational efficiency.
By implementing the S-101 standard, ENHD aligns its hydrographic services with global best practices, supporting more accurate and adaptable charting. This digital transformation initiative reflects Egypt’s commitment to providing state-of-the-art navigational tools and strengthening its leadership role within the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO).
ENHD plans to continue expanding its capabilities under the S-100 framework, reinforcing Egypt’s position as a pioneer in maritime safety and navigational innovation.
