Algeria Telecom has reaffirmed its technological leadership in Africa by launching the continent’s first Fiber To The Home (FTTH) service offering streaming speeds of up to 1.6 Gbps. This new milestone builds on the company’s record-breaking 1.2 Gbps service launched in November 2024, strengthening its position as a leading provider of high-speed internet nationally and across Africa.
The 1.6 Gbps service is designed to support Algeria’s digital transformation, offering private and institutional customers unparalleled connectivity for applications such as live streaming, gaming, remote work, distance learning, and cloud computing.
Alongside these advances, Algeria Telecom is accelerating its fiber-optic network rollout, connecting tens of thousands of homes and businesses monthly. The company expects to reach 2.4 million subscribers in the coming days.
These achievements underline Algeria Telecom’s commitment to delivering innovative, durable, and reliable digital solutions, contributing significantly to the growth of Algeria’s digital economy.
