Huawei has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening and expanding its long-standing partnership with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, with a focus on accelerating the digital transformation of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), and upgrading network infrastructure and services.
A high-level Huawei delegation, comprising Yushaoning, Vice CEO of Public Affairs; Pan Feng, Managing Director of the Enterprise Business Group (EBG); and Ali Raza, Account Director for Education, met with HEC Chairman Nadeem Mahbub on Monday to review ongoing collaborations and identify new opportunities to advance Pakistan’s higher education sector.
Huawei underscored its more than 15-year association with HEC and highlighted its contributions to the Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) projects. The company also showcased its role in establishing ICT Academies across universities, which aim to cultivate digital skills and foster innovation among Pakistan’s youth.
The delegation celebrated Pakistan’s recent success in the global ICT competition, where university teams secured the first, second, and third positions—an achievement Huawei credited to sustained cooperation in ICT education and training.
As part of its future engagement, Huawei formally invited HEC to participate in the Huawei Connect 2025 global event in Shanghai. HEC has also been invited to present a case study on Pakistan’s Education Cloud at the Cloud & AI Summit, positioning the country’s higher education sector within the context of emerging global technologies and best practices.
Chairman Nadeem Mahbub commended Huawei’s ongoing support in promoting technological advancement within the higher education system. He expressed confidence that this collaboration will continue to grow in the new era of digital innovation, delivering significant benefits to Pakistan’s academic landscape.
