UAE Tops Global Rankings in Digital Transformation and Telecom Infrastructure

The UAE has solidified its role as a global leader in digital transformation, ranking first worldwide in the United Nations 2024 E-Government Survey’s Telecommunications Infrastructure Index with a perfect score of 100 percent, according to Emirates News Agency (WAM), a TV BRICS partner.

The country also continues to lead the world in mobile internet speed, holding the top position since July 2024. As of June 2025, the UAE recorded an average download speed of 546.14 Mbps, further cementing its digital infrastructure excellence.

In 2024, the UAE government completed 173.7 million digital transactions, serving over 57 million beneficiaries through 1,419 government services. These initiatives achieved a 91 percent satisfaction rate, underscoring the success of its digital-first governance model.

Experts attribute this progress to a “human-first” strategy powered by artificial intelligence, which is setting new benchmarks for global digital services, innovation, and sustainable growth. The UAE’s vision prioritizes seamless citizen experience, technological advancement, and international competitiveness.

Looking ahead, the UAE aims to double the digital economy’s contribution to GDP by 2030. Artificial intelligence alone is projected to account for 13.6 percent of GDP – around US$100 billion – a move that reinforces the nation’s economic diversification agenda and its ambition to remain at the forefront of digital leadership worldwide.
