Kuwait City, Kuwait – In a landmark step toward accelerating its digital transformation, Kuwait has officially launched 5G Advanced technology, also known as 5.5G. The rollout, spearheaded by Huawei and implemented by Knetco, sets a new benchmark for connectivity, speed, and smart infrastructure in line with Kuwait Vision 2035.
5G Advanced delivers speeds up to ten times faster than standard 5G, with ultra-low latency and massive connectivity capacity. These capabilities will power next-generation applications in smart cities, autonomous systems, AI-driven industries, and advanced digital services across both public and private sectors.
Knetco, the official Ministry of Communications contractor, led the implementation under a compressed timeline, mobilizing top-tier technical talent to ensure timely and high-quality deployment across all three mobile operators in Kuwait. The company managed every aspect of the rollout—from infrastructure readiness to nationwide integration—delivering each milestone without compromising safety or performance.
“The arrival of 5G Advanced will transform how Kuwait communicates, operates, and innovates,” said Khaled Samy Hall, CEO of Knetco. “Our partnership with Huawei ensures this cutting-edge technology delivers lasting benefits to every sector, from government services to individual consumers.”
Huawei echoed the sentiment, with Jayson Fu, Procurement Director of Huawei Kuwait, praising Knetco’s execution. “Their proven expertise and precision enabled us to exceed international standards, making this deployment a new benchmark for connectivity in Kuwait.”
Beyond enhanced connectivity, 5G Advanced is expected to accelerate innovations such as drone systems, Li-Fi communication, advanced security operations, and smart mobility, while laying the foundation for future 6G upgrades.
