Dubai, UAE – du, the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, has announced a contribution of AED 3 million to support cancer care programs in the country.
The initiative is part of du’s ongoing corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment to advance healthcare, raise awareness, and improve the quality of life for patients battling cancer. The funding will go towards programs aimed at early detection, treatment support, and awareness campaigns designed to educate communities about prevention and care.
According to du, the support underscores the company’s belief in creating sustainable social impact beyond the telecom sector. By backing cancer-related initiatives, the operator seeks to strengthen the national healthcare ecosystem and contribute to the UAE’s broader goals of improving public health and wellbeing.
Hatem Dowidar, CEO of e& (du’s parent group), emphasized that the donation aligns with the company’s mission of leveraging its resources to serve communities and support critical causes. The AED 3 million will be channeled into initiatives run in collaboration with leading healthcare institutions and charities that specialize in oncology and patient care.
This move comes as part of a wider strategy where du has consistently supported national causes ranging from education and digital inclusion to health and humanitarian initiatives. The operator highlighted that focusing on cancer programs was particularly important given the disease’s rising incidence and the financial and emotional toll it takes on families.
By funding awareness, screenings, and treatment programs, du aims to empower individuals with knowledge, promote early intervention, and enhance recovery chances for patients across the UAE.
