Cassava Technologies and Accenture Partner to Build Sovereign AI Cloud Solutions Across Africa

Cassava Technologies has announced a strategic collaboration with Accenture to deliver sovereign AI cloud solutions across Africa, leveraging Cassava’s GPU-as-a-service (GPUaaS) infrastructure powered by Nvidia and hosted in its secure, energy-efficient data centres.

The initiative will enable organisations to process AI workloads and sensitive data within national borders, in compliance with local regulatory requirements. Accenture will deploy its AI Refinery platform to design secure, scalable solutions tailored to African industries and contexts.

The rollout will begin in South Africa, before expanding to Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, and Nigeria, supported by Cassava’s high-speed pan-African fibre network that ensures ultra-low-latency computing.

Ahmed El Beheiry, CEO of Cassava AI, described the collaboration as a milestone in Africa’s digital transformation: “With our GPUaaS, Cassava will drive the continent’s AI revolution by giving businesses access to computing power based on their individual needs. This partnership strengthens data governance, drives AI adoption across industries, and delivers African solutions for African challenges.”

Mauro Macchi, CEO of Accenture for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, added: “With our expertise in sovereign cloud and AI, Accenture will help Cassava deliver secure, scalable solutions that empower organisations across Africa to adopt AI with confidence and unlock new value.”

The companies said their solutions will integrate African languages, context, and cultural nuances, with applications in financial services, mining, telecommunications, agriculture, and healthcare. Cassava confirmed it will continue investing in infrastructure, scalability, and compliance to commercialise the sovereign AI platform.
