Beirut — Lebanon’s cabinet has officially approved a license for Starlink, the satellite internet company owned by Elon Musk, to provide internet distribution services across the country using SpaceX-operated satellites.
According to Tony Saad, spokesperson for Telecommunications Minister Charles Hage, the decision follows nearly six months of negotiations with the government.
For the initial phase, Starlink services will be limited to companies and institutions, with subscription packages starting at $100 per month. Broader availability and potential expansion to individual users may be considered in later stages.
The move is seen as a step toward improving connectivity in Lebanon, where infrastructure challenges have often hampered reliable internet access.
