Registration Opens for Regional Conference “Community Media in the Digital Age” in Amman

The Community Media Network (CMN) has officially opened registration for the upcoming regional conference titled “Community Media in the Digital Age,” set to take place on November 15–16, 2025, in Amman, Jordan. Participation in the conference requires prior registration.

The event coincides with the 25th anniversary of “AmmanNet,” the first online and community radio station in the Arab world, marking a major milestone in the region’s independent media landscape. The conference is expected to gather around 300 participants, including over 50 international guests from the media, civil society, academia, and policymaking sectors.

Focused on strengthening the role of community media in fostering transparency, social inclusion, and civic engagement, the conference will explore both opportunities and challenges facing the sector in the digital era. Key agenda themes include:

  • Empowering communities by amplifying underrepresented voices in traditional and digital media.
  • Advocating for legal reforms to protect the independence and sustainability of community media organizations.
  • Building partnerships with civil society to promote open, participatory communication ecosystems.
  • Enhancing financial sustainability through innovative, long-term funding models.

The CMN has also invited institutions and organizations to submit proposals for special sessions to be featured in the official program, offering logistical support to selected partners.

Celebrating a quarter-century of AmmanNet’s pioneering role, the conference seeks to reimagine the future of community media in the Arab world, fostering inclusive platforms that champion rights, diversity, and social justice in the digital age.
