Qatar Participates in GCC Health Council and Ministers Meetings in Kuwait

Qatar took part in the 88th meeting of the Gulf Health Council and the 11th meeting of the GCC Health Ministers Committee, held in Kuwait on Saturday. The Qatari delegation was led by Minister of Public Health His Excellency Mansoor bin Ebrahim Al Mahmoud.

The meetings focused on strengthening joint Gulf health cooperation and advancing regional public health initiatives.

During the 88th Gulf Health Council meeting, participants reviewed updates to the Unified Gulf Health Strategy 2026–2030, which aims to harmonize health policies and promote integrated healthcare systems across GCC member states.

The 11th GCC Health Ministers Committee meeting addressed several key priorities, including the GCC Strategy for Combating Drugs 2025–2026, the development of health insurance frameworks, and the standardization of classification and registration procedures for healthcare specialties. Discussions also covered initiatives for healthy cities and the continued expansion of the Gulf Virtual Health Platform, designed to enhance telehealth and digital medical services across the region.

The meetings reaffirmed the GCC’s commitment to unified health action and collaborative policymaking to strengthen healthcare resilience, public well-being, and regional preparedness for emerging challenges.
