A strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Oman Esports and Gaming Committee and Nova Technology & Investment LLC to accelerate the growth of Oman’s esports and gaming sector. The partnership, aligned with Oman Vision 2040, aims to empower youth, nurture local talent, and position the Sultanate as a regional hub for digital innovation and competitive gaming.
The MoU was signed by Eng. Saba al Busaidy, Chairwoman of the Oman Esports and Gaming Committee, and Saba al Sinani, Co-Founder and Deputy CEO of Nova Technology & Investment LLC. The agreement seeks to build strategic partnerships, foster a sustainable esports ecosystem, and create new economic and creative opportunities for the gaming community.
Hilal al Sinani, CEO of Nova Technology, described esports as “a future-ready industry that can inspire young Omanis and create real economic value.” He emphasized that the collaboration will establish the foundations for a thriving digital ecosystem that nurtures talent, attracts investment, and connects Oman to the global gaming arena.
Under the MoU, Nova Technology will lead three major initiatives over the next 12–18 months:
- WAJH Platform – A digital hub to identify, rank, and certify Omani players, connecting them with opportunities both regionally and globally.
- Esports Academy – Starting online and expanding into physical bootcamps to train players, coaches, referees, and casters to international standards.
- Hosting Major Tournaments – Organizing local, regional, and international esports events to place Oman prominently on the global esports map.
Adeel Irshad, COO of Sur International Investment Group, noted that the collaboration will establish a complete talent development pathway. “By partnering with leading global esports organizations, we will ensure Omani players and staff are ready to compete at the highest level,” he said.
Beyond competitive gaming, the partnership is expected to generate hundreds of new jobs and stimulate entrepreneurship in fields such as gaming technology, digital media production, content creation, and event management.
Through this agreement, Oman aims to strengthen its digital economy, enhance youth skills, and solidify its position as a regional esports destination — advancing national goals of innovation and diversification under Oman Vision 2040.
